Why such a fuss?

Christians make an enormous fuss of ensuring The Nativity Story is told because they believe Jesus Christ is the source of incredible gifts: of unconditional love, healing and forgiveness. His coming and the gift of Himself, heralded a new beginning in the history of mankind, a reality which would bring people freedom and the promise of eternal life.
