Whilst some people like extreme activity holidays, many others prefer to travel to remote places to meet new people and experience different cultures. Increasingly, "spiritual getaways" are being sought out. In a world where it is often hard to find a sense of peace, at least once a year I go on a "spiritual retreat".

Tillie

There are no restrictions on where I can travel as a Catholic, only on how I act when I get there - but then I'd behave the same at home as I do abroad. I love to travel and I thoroughly enjoy holidays like everyone else.

"Wherever you go tread lightly, contain your Chi, and approach everyone you encounter with modesty and grace".
The Barefoot doctor's handbook for the Urban warrior

To retreat:

To go away from a place or person in order to escape from fighting or danger. To go to a quiet safe place in order to avoid a difficult situation.

A retreat:

A private and safe place. A period of time used to pray and study quietly, or to think carefully, away from normal activities and duties.

I have been on pilgrimages which are special journeys focused on feeding and resting my spirit. A pilgrimage is normally made to sacred or holy ground. You can find pilgrimage centres all over the world.
