 He
claimed he was the son of God and was condemned
because of it – on a charge of blasphemy
(showing contempt for God). What do you think?
Was he really was the son of God or totally insane?
|

He was the bringer of new and challenging ideas, encouraging new thinking that would challenge the accepted laws of society and undermined the current world vision. He emphasized that at the heart of the Jewish law was a quote from the Jewish Book of Deuteronomy, "You must love the lord thy God with all your heart, with all your soul (spirit) with all your strength and with all your mind, and your neighbour as yourself." This quote is also found in Luke's Gospel chapter 10 verse 27.
One of Jesus' most radical teachings was that everyone was considered to be equal in the eyes of God, that there was no distinction between slave and freeman, men and women! (Ahead of his time, eh!).
|

He stated that when the end of time comes it will be he, Jesus, who will be sitting on a throne passing judgement on all men and women. If he sits in judgement of all men and women, does that make him God?
|

Jesus claimed to be Lord of the weekly Jewish holy day. But the Lord of this Sabbath day was said to be God.

Jesus claimed he was powerful enough to be able to forgive men and women when they did wrong. No one but God could do this, could they? |
